Atari Lynx emulator for PlayStation Portable

Handy PSP is a port of the Handy emulator to the Sony PlayStation Portable platform. It's written in C and C++ and uses GU (Graphical Utility toolkit) for rendering.

Known Issues

Sound isn't perfect in some games, it skips or pops. After a week of tweaking the sound code, I'm still not sure if this is because of the port, or the emulator. The answer is most likely somewhere in-between.

Compiling

Emulator's source code is only available via a Subversion (SVN) repository. To check out a particular version, run

svn co http://svn.akop.org/psp/tags/handy/version

where version is the release version (for example, 1.2.1). Note that for this to work, you need to have Subversion installed.

To compile the emulator, you will need zlib (svn://) and libpng (svn://).

Handy PSP is a port of Handy to the PSP by Akop Karapetyan. Much like the other port of Handy to PSP, sound isn’t perfect and sometimes it skips or pops. It has decent compatibility and most games run at full speed, but it hasn`t been updated since 2002 and might be discontinued. It`s one of two good options for Atari Lynx emulation on the Sony PSP, the other is PLynx (another port of Handy). Bazzie Bizzle.com recommends giving both a try, one may support a game or feature that the other doesn`t.
