Virtual Jaguar GCC/SDL - Bazzie Bizzle.com

Virtual Jaguar is software dedicated to emulating the Atari Jaguar hardware on a standard PC. The software was originally developed by David Raingeard of Potato Emulation and was released under the GPL on 25 June 2003.

Virtual Jaguar GCC/SDL is not only a port of the MS Visual C++/SDL source code but has also been extended and rewritten so that we can enjoy Atari Jaguar emulation on every platform which uses the GCC compiler and that can make use of the Simple Directmedia Layer library (SDL).

Currently Virtual Jaguar GCC/SDL compiles on WIN32 using mingw, and several UN*X based systems (BeOS, Linux and FreeBSD). It may run on other systems as well but we can not guarantee that.

Normally, we don't carry WIP, CVS, or SVN builds. However, we made an exception in this case because the SVN build above is the only version of Virtual Jaguar that runs on Windows Vista.

Virtual Jaguar GCC/SDL is written in C++ using GCC/SDL. The Windows version also uses DirectX. It`s now back in active development and certainly worth your time. Virtual Jaguar GCC/SDL is the very best Jaguar emulator you`ll find. It plays a number of games and it`s fairly speedy. Bazzie Bizzle.com recommends downloading both Project Tempest and Virtual Jaguar GCC/SDL. Then, test each game you want to play in both emulators, while trying as many configurations as possible. Use the emulator that best supports the game you want to play.
