Atari800 is an emulator for the Atari 8bit machines (400/800/600XL/800XL/etc.).
Visit the emulator main page.
There you'll find versions of the emulator which run on PCs (Unix/Windows) and some other hosts.

Download latest version binaries and source code for Dreamcast below. (v0.78)

More information about Atari800 DC (howto burn CDs, which games do work, etc.) is here.

Howto make a bootable Dreamcast CD.

Compiling

The Dreamcast version uses the KallistiOS library from http://cadcdev.sourceforge.net.
I did some changes to KallistiOS (Subversion repository version 560).

Please follow the instructions at http://gamedev.allusion.net/softprj/kos/dcsetup.php to build the cross compiler and KOS library. If you have problems compiling the library you can check the KOS (cadcdev) mailing list on SourceForge.

After you have installed the cross compiler and compiled KOS, adapt src/dc/Makefile.dc to your environment. You'll probably have to change the SHBASE and KOS variables in dc/Makefile.dc to point to your compiler and KOS locations, respectively.

Then you can build the executable, "atari800.elf". In the atari800 src directory type

	make -f dc/Makefile.dc
to compile it. Use GNU make.

In order to prepare the executable for CD booting, convert the atari800.elf to a plain binary file with something like "sh-elf-objcopy -R .stack -R .comment -R .bss -R .sbss -O binary atari800.elf atari800.bin" and then scramble it.

Christian Groessler`s Atari800 DC is a Sega Dreamcast port of Atari800 using the KallistiOS library. Because it runs on the Dreamcast, it`s slower than the original port and compatibility also lags behind a bit. It`s the only choice for emulating the Atari 8-bit computers and 5200 game console on the Sega Dreamcast. It`s available is source and binary flavors.
