What is DCStella?

It's a port of the wonderful multi-platform Stella Atari 2600 VCS Emulator to the also wonderful Sega Dreamcast console. Right now the eighth release (Version 0.2f) is available, as well as the source code.

License

DCStella is released under the same terms as the original Stella
"Free for non-commercial use." and that definitively includes all the people selling CDRs with emulators and roms on eBay.

What's working right now?

CPU Emulation (though not always at 60Hz)
Graphics (so you can see something)
Sound (though not 100%, there are still timing problems)
Every controller except paddles

What's not working right now?

Paddles! There is some code, that “should” work, but does not.
Some (most) PAL games seem to have some issues (lower part of the screen is missing)

DCStella is SvOlli`s port of Bradford W. Mott`s Atari 2600 emulator to the Sega Dreamcast. It`s the best choice for playing Atari 2600 games on the Dreamcast. There are several downloads available here, all taken from the DCStella homepage. This includes the emulator, two Nero images (ready to burn with and without PD ROMs), a separate zip with just the roms, and your choice of two themes. Make sure you have more than on blank disc before you start because I made a couple coasters before getting it right. However once I did get it, it worked great. A few slow downs on certain ROMs, but over all I had a positive experience. Although 2600 emulation on the Dreamcast may never achieve full speed or compatibility, the games that do work make this well worth the effort.
